        Position Summary:
The Town of Mount Carmel is seeking a motivated and experienced law enforcement professional to serve as a Police Officer – Patrol Supervisor. This is a supervisory leadership role responsible for professional, community-oriented policing that maintains public order, protects the community, and supports proactive crime prevention and enforcement efforts.

          Key Responsibilities:
This position performs supervisory and field law enforcement duties, including but not limited to:

• Supervising patrol operations and assigned police personnel

• Building cooperative, ethical relationships with citizens and businesses through community and problem-oriented policing

• Responding to calls for service, complaints, and requests for assistance

• Conducting investigations, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and preparing reports

• Securing crime scenes, conducting searches and seizures, and making arrests when necessary

• Enforcing traffic laws, directing traffic, investigating accidents, and issuing citations/warnings

• Testifying in court and serving legal documents

• Establishing command and control at emergency scenes until relieved by higher authority

• Coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies as needed

• Conducting and managing training for police officers

• Promoting integrity, employee morale, and high-quality customer service

• Monitoring internal controls for fraud, errors, and omissions
  
  
  Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (college degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field preferred)

• Current Tennessee POST certification as a law enforcement officer

• Minimum of five (5) years of verified experience as a certified police officer

• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

• Supervisory experience is preferred
  
  Starting Pay:
  
  $25.72 per hour (or $57,509.92 annually)
  Starting pay will be based on qualifications, certifications, and experience, in accordance with the Town of Mount Carmel pay plan.
