Fire Department

The Mount Carmel Volunteer Fire Department’s primary goal is to deliver emergency services to the citizens and visitors of Mount Carmel, with its best capability to the Town of Mount Carmel by:

  • Responding to the needs of our community and agencies within our county, for fire protection, vehicle accidents, hazardous conditions and any other emergency incident where the department’s aid may need to be rendered

  • Encouraging and improving the department’s needs in meeting or exceeding our operations or services delivered. In the act of exercising our expected duties, the Mount Carmel Volunteer Fire Department will: Establish top priorities to ensure life safety for firefighters, members of the community and any visitors to the Town of Mount Carmel, List a very high priority in the protection of property and environment

  • Develop member’s personal and professional attributes through encouragement

  • Using creativity, knowledge and skills to full advantage, work as a team to meet the goals of the department

  • Develop communications which are honest and open, while including the members, community, city government and agencies outside of our town

  • Strive for a high level of performance, maintain integrity and embed the trust of the department to inspire the confidence of the community

The fire department currently has an “ISO” Rating of a Class 4, the department has one station with the fleet of two (2) Engines which are Pumper/Tankers, one (1) Reserve Engine and one (1) sixty-five (65) foot Telesquirt. The Fire Chief is full-time, three (3) Public Safety Officers and ten (10) volunteer firefighters that answer emergency calls within the town.
